I got screwed.

Goddamn you karma, not sure what this is for but it must have been small. Only took me 5 slow minutes to change it but I am sure glad it wasn't raining or snowing.

Screwed

And usually I like getting screwed...

Spreading the Love...

Enjoyed a fantastic lunch at the friendly neighborhood Birchwood Cafe where you'll find that local, organic, & fair-trade are all taken seriously. Also, local brews such as Summit & Flat Earth are served here. Sat outside on the patio after a nice little bike ride and wallah...

MORBID - Sawtooth Mountains, Idaho

Well, I know we all missed the birthday for MORBID a few weeks back. In honor of MORBID I climbed to the top of Regan Peak in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho and snapped a couple pics on its birthday(not realizing it). Here are a couple of them. Happy belated birthday MORBID! - Reed

Don't Try This At Home

I realize Oktoberfest is upon us but I beg you please practice safe beer drinking and use a glass. Using a shoe is not recommended and should not be attempted. This may lead to drunkin' text messaging and cellular dialing of random people on your contact list.

Since you should use a glass for beer drinking activities and you are wondering where to purchase one of those sweet 1 liter dimpled glasses you can find at Oktoberfest, look no futher, just click HERE and you can order up a set all for yourself. Looking for a 2 liter Das Boot? Check out Gasthof's located off of University in NE Minneapolis.

Happy drinking.

Bicycling Wiki

Wiley from the Practical Pedal writes:

We’ve got a new web site. It’s called Convivial City and it’s a wiki, meaning all of you can edit and add to it. The idea, as quoted from the main page  is this:
Convivial, at its root, means to “come together and live.” So a Convivial City is one where people can do just that. And bicycles help make such a place possible. So Convivial City (the website) is a wiki that we hope will be filled with pages and pages of great information about biking and living in your city. Anyone can edit articles, create articles, add photos and on and on.
There are no real rules except this one: Add stuff that will make this site the definitive  most enjoyable city guide for cyclists.
It’s an idea John and I had while driving to Portland last month. Wouldn’t it be great, we said, if there was a wiki guide for cyclists where we could find out what the riding was like in any city. But not a just-the-facts-ma’am kind of guide but one that told the story of a city as well. Something that informs and inspires. With luck and hard work, Convivial City could be just such a guide. Right now there’s nothing there, so let’s get started.

Plan B

It's raining so why not drink! Picked up some Oktoberfest. Erdinger Weissbräu Okt-fest is scrumpdillyumptious. Yeah I went there. I also have some Bell's to try and I am on the lookout for some Surlyfest.

Also if you rode in this weekends Urban Assault Ride, the results have been posted here. Great ride and we can't wait until next years UAR. Team MORBID came in 69th place...uhh 69, that's funny. I have some pictures uploaded HERE for your viewing pleasure.

Speaking of races don't forget to check out the Babes in Bikeland race Saturday at 5pm. Start Behind Bars, end One On One. I know there are a couple MFers partaking in this race.

I Hate You Cranks

After only 1 season this piece of shit TruVativ crankset finally gave out. I had to take it out to the pasture and shoot them dead with my gat. I poured out some of my 40 for my homies to show some R to the E to the S to the P to the E to the C to the T. Replaced them with the RaceFace Evolve crankset which was suppose to go on my Niner build but since Niner is being a bunch of bitches I'll never get a frame. Now I can bike the Urban Assualt Ride tomorrow. BTW show some props bitches, Petey and I had the highest score on the UAR quiz with 88%.

Fall

Yep, it is fall, that means it is time to clean the shop area of the basement and drink some Oktoberfest beers.

Oktoberfest #1: Spaten Oktoberfest
King + Oktoberfest = Schweet.

I knocked back two of these while cleaning up the basement shop and started fine cleaning on the road bike(which is for sale btw, more on that soon, also the Stumpjumper FSR will also be for sale soon, shout if you want one). I found it to be a good beer that definitely has that German beer taste. It was enjoyable but seemed to make me really thirsty, so I had another. Both were good and I recommend it if you are looking for a good German Oktoberfest.

Next up: SurlyFest.

More Bike Bling

Labels:

You Are What You Drink

The man in the little brown truck just dropped off some slammin' bike bling.

Step 1. Grab a delicious beer from your refrigerator.

Step 2: Take off your headset top cap. Take a few gulps of beer.

Step 3: Install your new YAWYD top cap. Drink some more beer.

Step 3: Take your bottle cap and push it over the YAWYD top cap.

Step 4: Slam the rest of your beer.

This is some sweet bike bling from Niner plus it only takes 30 seconds to install.
