Salem Hills 29er

Hey how about this weather? On Wednesday the weather wasn't a problem, 75* and sunny! Petey and I broke out the 29er single speeds for a ride. This was the maiden voyage for the XXIX with the new Reba fork. I must say that a front suspension makes a huge difference. I love the 29er, they roll fast as hell. Someday when Minnesota stops looking like Seattle and other trails open up, we will have some MORBID Ride & BBQ's. Stay tuned.

Fork Install Day

Pete and MikeB came over to my house, to get some help installing Mike's new suspension fork on his 29er, Tuesday night. After the work was done we kicked it in the backyard with some brats, beer, and a fire.

Red Rock

Member23, Yeti sent in some shots from his trip out West to Red Rock just outside of Vegas.

He writes:

Hey Pete,

Got a good ride in this winter when we went to Vegas, and came across a great example of a huffy in it's true environment!

I'm watching MORC to see when the trails will open up, it's been along winter of sitting on the couch and drinking some good beers, but I will pay for it all this spring!

I am totally jealous, it really puts my ride at Salem to shame. It is also good to see a Huffy, busted down and shit on buy what I can only presume were wild burrows or horses. :) I know what he means about paying for those winter beers...After that ride at Salem I felt like the Huffy's friends in that picture.

Got any good rides in this winter/spring? Pics of your ride? Stories? Send them on over. See ya out there!

From snow to fall....errr spring?

The first official mountain bike trail is open in Minnesota. I took the dogs to work and then met up with Pete afterwards for a few laps. The trails were in great shape with only one twenty foot section that was still muddy. Now if the temps would just warm up a bit more so it didn’t feel so much like fall out there.

A Snowy Work of Art in Duluth, MN

I love snow. I love storms. I am hated by most people in my community for stating this. Bah. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. Six inches of the fresh, cement,y manna from heaven turned this parked bicycle into a work of art.

So Did You Drink A Beer Today?

I did. April 7th was the day beer started to flow(legally) around the US again after the horrible dark time in our past known as prohibition. Linky

Also congrats to Eric on winning the giveaway. Contact me and I will get you your stuff.

BTW, if you are bored with this rainy, snowy, bullshit spring, hit up iTunes. Chain Reaction 5, $1.99. Earthed 3, $1.99. Bits III: CKD, $1.99. New World Disorder 6, $1.99. Synopsis, $1.99. Yeah, they are a little older but where else you going to find them for $1.99. Enjoy.

In other news, ARTCRANK = Awesome. Thanks Charles for putting on another great show, artists, you truly rock. Lots of Awesomeness this year.

Later folks, for now enjoy a picture MikeyB's Guinness from our ride Saturday before ARTCRANK. Thanks Brit's for the beers!

News

Hey All-

I wanted to let everyone know that I am giving up drinking and taking MORBID in a different direction. MORBID is now: Minnesota Off-Road Bikers Into Deerhunting. While living in Minnesota for most of my life and seeing so many deer on the roads dead and every one at work being gone for deer opener I want my piece of the venison pie. Or at least some jerky or sticks. I will continue to ride my bike and I think I have found the perfect solution to my transportation while hunting.

Peacock Groove

I will be contacting Erik at Peacock Groove to build me up one of these and add a BOB trailer painted to match. Add my gun rack on the front, this configuration will allow me to bring a tree-stand and hopefully haul the deer out.

My training regiment of Big Buck Hunter is really starting to pay off, but it is starting to get a bit expensive. Yesterday's 7 hour marathon cost $296 and my left arm is sore from pumping the whole time. Who knew shotguns had unlimited bullets? How do people miss with these things?

Well I should be ready to go by November or whenever the season starts...

Stay tuned and see ya out there!
