T6 Gear Sale - Get Some!

One of my favorite clothing suppliers is having a sale this weekend. You save some cash on nice gear and 10% of their profits go to a good cause. Here is an email I received from Ryan at Twin Six:

People, it's time. It's time for a Twin Six spring sale. It's time for us to clean out some boxes around the shop, and it's time for you to save some coin on righteous cycling fashion. It's time to pick up a little something for the love in your life, and pay a little something forward for a great cause.

Starting January 31, and running though February 3, pretty much everything will be marked down. Some items more than others. And we've recently added a few new things, so please dig around and make sure you see it all.

We are donating 10 percent of all sales from this sale to Jenny's Light, a newly formed nonprofit foundation dedicated to building awareness, detection and treatment for postpartum disorders. Twin Six recently lost a dear friend, Jennifer Gibbs Bankston, and her son Graham, to postpartum depression. Jennifer was a joyful spirit who was loved by family and friends with the same intensity that she showed in her love for others. We have been friends with her and her family for over 20 years, and we will always remember her for the bright light that she was.

If you would rather send donations direct, they can also be mailed to:

Greetings from the frozen north!

All~

Greetings from the frozen north! Since I saw the last post, I know I've been longingly looking out the windows at the sun shining and realizing that I'd freeze my ass off if I tried to do any sort of a ride. Thankfully this past weekend, the biking gods were willing to grant me a quick reprieve and some unseasonably warm weather so I took full advantage of it. So here we go ...

I figured the only reliable place this time of year was running out to the end of Park Point, if you've ever been to Duluth I'm sure you've made the trip over the lift bridge and taken a stroll in the sand. So... Sand and this type of terrain calls for what type of bike class?
Beach

Well, yes, a Pugsley would be the correct answer... but not this man... I'm rockin the Monkey!
Surly Karate Monkey

I do enjoy taking fun pictures while I'm out, so I'm always keeping my eyes open for stuff like this...
Icey

But come on now... would it be a ride without a little 'break'...
Surly Karate Monkey

And what was the choice?? MMMMmmmm .... Yes... Yes I do have a Big Butt. (and yes, I did place that strategically)
Big Butt

Overall it was a good ride, Hell it was a GREAT ride considering I've been on the trainer for the past month or so. Ugh... we all know what that feels like. Too bad mother nature has backed her ass back up and shifted the mercury back down where it belongs. 41 degrees at about 1 pm sunday... and now tuesday... -12 and still dropping. Crap... Well back to the trainer I guess. Hope everyone else got out and enjoyed the nice weather... and I definitely hope it comes back soon.

Cold.

It is really freakin' cold out (-12F this AM) and even riding the trainer feels cold. This is the time of year where MORBID members still living in the God forsaken North usually choose to drink more booze than putting miles on the bikes. I like to call it cross training.

Events coming up:
Feb. 3rd - Chilly Chilli Ice Race
Feb. 10th - TC Bike Swap Meet
Apr. 5th - Artcrank

Questions for you:
So what are you drinking? If you have been out riding lets see some snot-sickle pictures! Took a nasty fall on the ice and lost an nose, send me the story. This is a community, let me know about other events and I will post 'em up.

See ya out there.

Brew 5ifty 2wo

Brew52 - Sampling a different Minnesota brew each week for an entire year.

Scott sent me a link to this earlier in the day, I soon realized that is was something that must be done. Richfield Liquors was my destination to pick up the Schell's SnowStorm. I also grabbed the next two beers on the list.

Cracked the SnowStorm open a little bit ago, took a few pictures, and drank a few gulps. I would rate it as a middle of the road beer but you can see my full review over at Brew52.

Week 1 - Schell's SnowStorm
